Building Stronger Communities
At Standard, we take a long-term view to building businesses and are committed to both empowering our employees and supporting the communities where we live and work.
Building a Culture We are Proud of
Welcoming people from all backgrounds enables us to harness the power that comes from a diverse workforce. Our teams and our culture give us a competitive edge by improving collaboration and bringing an array of perspectives that spark creativity and innovation.
Training a New Generation of Roofers
The GAF Roofing Academy is a tuition-free training program that enables prospective workers to build the necessary skills to begin a career in commercial and residential roofing. Since its launch, the national program has helped to increase the diversity of the roofing sector, targeting underrepresented populations including women, transitioning veterans, citizens re-entering the workforce and youth from under-resourced communities. To date, more than 5,000 GAF Roofing Academy students have been trained and more than 2,850 graduates have been placed in roofing jobs.
Giving Back to Our Communities
Standard and our operating companies support the communities globally where we live and work through philanthropic donations, strategic partnerships, and volunteer time. Our focus is primarily on organizations in the workforce development, education, disaster relief and rebuilding, and combating food insecurity spaces. Collectively, Standard and its operating companies support approximately 500 nonprofit organizations each year.
In 2025, employees from Standard and its operating companies dedicated more than 9,000 volunteer hours to nearly 300 organizations as part of Standard's inaugural Summer of Service. As part of this program, New York City-based Standard employees volunteered by packing and preparing meals for elderly New Yorkers with Citymeals on Wheels and for people with severe and chronic illnesses with God’s Love We Deliver. Employees also assembled activity kits for pediatric patients with Project Sunshine and cleared brush and invasive species in Central Park with the Central Park Conservancy.
Standard is also proud to support Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s life-saving research through its annual sponsorship of and active participation in Cycle for Survival.
