Building stronger communities
Working in tandem with our operating companies, Standard supports programs and partnerships that have a positive impact on the communities where we live and work.

Investing in the Future
The GAF Roofing Academy is an innovative training program that enables prospective workers to build the necessary skills to begin a career in commercial, residential, and solar roofing. Since launch, the tuition-free national program has helped to train a diverse workforce including transitioning veterans, citizens re-entering the workforce and youth from under-resourced communities. Over the next five years, we anticipate training 2,000 new roofers and assisting them with pursuing job opportunities in the roofing sector.

Building Together
Standard and its operating companies have donated building materials and roofing and waterproofing products—totaling more than $2 million—to strengthen communities in need and help them rebuild after disasters. Through collaborations with leading nonprofits like Good360, Habitat for Humanity and Team Rubicon, we are committed to contributing the products and skills needed to help communities rebuild stronger.

Supporting Neighbors in Need
To show gratitude for our communities, Standard supports several organizations serving New York City residents in need through employee volunteer events. In 2022, employees packed 10,000 meals for elderly New Yorkers with Citymeals on Wheels, in addition to assembling 250 activity kits for pediatric patients with Project Sunshine, serving over 400 lunches with Part of the Solution and packing more than 2,600 meals with New York Common Pantry.

Giving Back
Each fall, Standard hosts an Annual Impact Month, where employees volunteer with nonprofit organizations in the communities where we live and work. We also organize employee volunteer days throughout the year in support of our partners, including Central Park Conservancy, City Harvest, Project Sunshine, Opportunity Network, Part of the Solution and Citizens Committee for New York City.
In addition, Standard is proud to support this culture of service by making donations to eligible non-profit organizations where employees have a demonstrated commitment, either through volunteering, fundraising activities or board service.
