David Millstone
David J. Millstone is co-Chief Executive Officer of Standard Industries, a privately-held, global industrial business.
With over 20,000 employees and operations in more than 80 countries, Standard Industries’ businesses span a broad array of holdings, technologies and investments—including both public and private companies from early to late-stage—as well as world-class building solutions, performance materials, real estate, logistics and next-generation solar technology. Its operating companies include GAF, BMI, Grace, GAF Energy, Siplast, SGI, Schiedel and Standard Logistics, as well as Standard Investments and Winter Properties.
Mr. Millstone is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School and currently serves on the University Council at Yale and the Board of Advisors of the Harvard Law School Program on Corporate Governance. With his wife, Jennifer, he is active in supporting a number of civic organizations, including the Partnership for Public Service, the 92nd Street Y, the Fortune Society and the Bard Prison Initiative.
David Winter
David S. Winter is co-Chief Executive Officer of Standard Industries, a privately-held, global industrial business.

Mr. Winter is involved in various civic and charitable endeavors, including serving on the Board of Directors of Conservation International and on the Board of Trustees for The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Carnegie Hall. He is also a Trustee of the New York City Police Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for New York City. Mr. Winter is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and resides in New York City with his four children.
Meet the leadership team of Standard Industries
Yaron Ben David
Yaron Ben David is responsible for Standard’s advanced technologies and next-horizon digital capabilities strategy and oversees Standard’s cybersecurity function. He joined Standard after 25 years in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where he served in senior leadership positions for more than 15 years. Most recently, he was the Deputy Commander of Unit 8200 at the rank of Colonel. Yaron graduated with honors from Tel Aviv University with two Bachelor’s Degrees, in both Middle Eastern Modern History and Laws. He also has a Masters in Business Administration from Tel Aviv University as well as a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University.
Alexandra Burban
Alex Burban serves as Head of Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions at Standard Industries, overseeing all mergers and acquisitions activity and corporate development across all of Standard's businesses. Alex joined Standard from Evercore, where she was a Senior Managing Director, most recently serving as the Head of Asia Cross-Border Advisory globally. Previously, she held leadership positions in Investment Banking and Investment Management at Lehman Brothers and earned a BBA and BA at The University of Texas at Austin.
Arlene Dick
Arlene Dick oversees all aspects of the tax department at Standard Industries. Prior to joining Standard, Arlene was a member of the GE tax organization where she held leadership positions across various GE businesses.
Dan Gilmore
Dan Gilmore is Chief of Staff to David Millstone. He started his career in book publishing and was formerly an editor at Vanity Fair and a literary scout. He graduated from Harvard College with honors and from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with distinction.
Gregory Heyman
Gregory Heyman serves as Head of Strategic Initiatives at Standard Industries. Before joining Standard, Mr. Heyman founded Beehouse and was a partner at investment funds Marble Arch and Miura Global. He currently serves as chairman of Oscar Heyman & Brothers and is on the board of Tiger Foundation. Mr. Heyman graduated from Yale Law School and Dartmouth College and was a Fulbright Scholar.
Amanda Jacobowitz
Amanda Jacobowitz is Chief of Staff to David Winter. Prior to Standard, she spent nearly a decade in public affairs and crisis communications at Finsbury, Joele Frank and Powell. Amanda’s depth of experience includes working on top M&A transactions and providing strategic counsel to a global base of clients. She graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis.
Beth Kseniak
Beth Kseniak oversees external communications for Standard Industries. Prior to joining Standard in 2019, she served as Executive Director of Communications at Vanity Fair, where she was responsible for the magazine’s global communications strategy for 25 years. During her tenure with Vanity Fair, Beth served as chief spokesperson and editorial advisor for editor Graydon Carter and was responsible for the magazine’s communications and branding across print and digital as well as managing media coverage for all Vanity Fair events.
John Maitner
As Chief Financial Officer, John Maitner oversees all financial matters at Standard Industries. Prior to joining Standard, John served its affiliate GAF for over 20 years, most recently as its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining GAF, John was Treasurer at RB, formerly Reckitt Benckiser. He holds a BS from Manhattan College.
Christian Marrone
Christian Marrone is responsible for Standard’s combined global security and intelligence function. He is a seasoned national security leader with deep experience in both the corporate and government sectors. He has held leadership positions at a number of major government contractors, including Lockheed Martin, CSRA Inc. and 3M. He has also served as Chief of Staff to Secretary Jeh Johnson at the Department of Homeland Security and as Special Assistant to Secretary Robert M. Gates at the Department of Defense. Christian has a JD from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law, and a Bachelors and Masters in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
Richard Nowak
Dick Nowak oversees all operations at Standard and its operating companies, serves on Standard’s Executive Committee, and advises the firm on all matters related to the operating companies and future M&A activities. Prior to this, Dick served as GAF’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, where he was responsible for many of the operational innovations that have defined the roofing industry. Dick also served as President and CEO of Elk Corporation and Elk Building Products.
Bob Patel
As President of Standard, Bob Patel works to identify and pursue opportunities to expand the Standard Performance Materials portfolio and take a global view of Standard’s Building Solutions and Performance Materials platforms to promote innovation, harness operational synergies, create efficiency, develop talent and provide strategic guidance to all operating CEOs. Prior to this role, Patel served as CEO of W.R. Grace & Co. Before joining Standard, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at LyondellBasell. He previously held leadership positions around the globe of increasing responsibility at LyondellBasell, Chevron Corporation and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company for more than 30 years.
Jason Pollack
Jason Pollack is responsible for all aspects of legal affairs at Standard Industries. He has been with Standard and its affiliates since 2003, serving in a variety of senior roles. As global General Counsel, Jason advises and consults on strategic initiatives and transactions, regulatory and compliance matters and significant litigations. He oversees a legal team of subject matter experts who sit in offices around the world.
Josh Raffel
Josh Raffel provides counsel and leadership to Standard and its operating companies on all aspects of external affairs. He is responsible for overseeing and expanding Standard’s external-facing strategy through External Communications, Government Affairs and Brand Marketing. Before joining Standard, he served as Chief Communications Officer at Juul Labs and was previously Deputy Communications Director in the White House, where he worked on issues ranging from Middle East policy to tax reform. Prior to the White House, Josh was Head of Communications and Marketing at Blumhouse Productions and began his career advising a range of clients at Freud Communications and Hiltzik Strategies.
Hamilton South
Hamilton South serves as Vice Chairman, Standard Industries. Hamilton has over 30 years of operational, marketing and branding experience. Prior to joining Standard, he founded HL Group, a leading strategic marketing and communications firm, and served as CEO, supporting a global roster of clients. Prior to HL, Hamilton was the President and Chief Marketing Officer of Ralph Lauren and began his career in publishing as the Editor at Large for Vanity Fair. He has also served on a number of boards both public and private.
Maggie Suniewick
As Chief Administrative Officer, Maggie Suniewick provides valuable strategic counsel to Standard and the executive leadership and Human Resources teams of Standard’s operating companies. She oversees the global Human Resources function as well as Standard’s Talent Acquisition, Internal Communications, CSR and Events teams.
Prior to joining Standard, Suniewick served in number of executive leadership roles at marquee global companies, including Twitter, NBC Universal, and Comcast. She earned a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University and received a Bachelors of Arts in Economics at Wesleyan University.

Prior to joining 40 North, Mr. Milsom led the re-development of Industry City in Sunset Park Brooklyn, a 6-million square foot complex, for Jamestown, Angelo Gordon and Belvedere Capital. Previously, Mr. Milsom was Vice President of Development at Vornado Realty Trust.
