Preserving The Empire State Building

The Empire State Building

From 1999 to 2019, Siplast has been involved in numerous projects on the roofing system of the Empire State Building.  The assemblies include the use of Teranap, our SBS-modified bitumen waterproofing membrane, and various types of overburden.  The original project was the 6th floor, where the tower begins, and is the footprint of the building. In this application,  special reinforced pedestals and pavers were installed over the Teranap system.  Additionally, Siplast has waterproofed over ten other floors, including a green roof on the 81st floor.
