Fast Company‘s annual feature on the world’s Most Innovative Companies features Standard Industries, which ranked no. 4 in the Design category for its innovative designs of GAF Energy’s Timberline Solar, the GAF/StreetBond Cool Community Project, and GAF’s recycled asphalt shingles.

These companies are proof that design doesn’t fit into a tidy box. But all of them do have one thing in common: They are actively working toward making the world a better and more interesting place.
